Supporting veterans has been a lifelong commitment. As a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces, a former senior police commander, and a longtime cadet leader and mentor, I remain dedicated to helping those who have served our country and understand the unique challenges that can follow overseas service.
Through my grassroots outreach initiative, A Brother in Need, I provide peer support to veterans and their families by connecting them with the guidance, services, and community resources they need during difficult times. Built on compassion, trust, and, most importantly, shared experience, the program recognizes that many veterans are more comfortable reaching out to someone who has walked a similar path and understands the realities of service.
I am equally passionate about preserving Canada's military heritage and ensuring future generations appreciate the sacrifices made by our veterans.
Throughout my years of leading and mentoring cadets, I have worked to build meaningful connections between young people and veterans by creating opportunities for veterans to share their stories, participate in cadet activities, and inspire youth through Veterans' Week, Remembrance Day ceremonies, and the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign. These experiences help strengthen respect for those who have served while preserving their stories for future generations.
Whether assisting a veteran in need, helping a family organize a memorial for a loved one, or building stronger connections between veterans and their communities, my work is guided by one simple belief: no veteran should ever feel forgotten.
Through leadership, volunteerism, and a lifelong commitment to service, I continue to advocate for veterans with dignity, respect, and compassion. It is a privilege to stand beside those who have served and to ensure they know their sacrifices will always be remembered.
